Summer Financial Aid
Funding for summer term is limited to Pell Grant and Stafford Loans for most students. Many students will have received their full annual maximum amounts from these aid programs during fall, winter and spring terms and will not have any federal aid remaining for summer term.
Students who received financial aid at Portland State between fall 2007 and spring 2008 and who appear to have remaining eligibility for Pell Grant or Stafford Loan will be sent an e-mail in late April to advise them that they may request aid for summer term. The on-line form to request summer term aid will be posted to their Financial Aid “Outstanding Requirements” page at www.banweb.pdx.edu. This on-line form will be posted to student records by April 28. Processing of summer aid requests will begin the week of May 12. Requests for summer term aid must be submitted no later than June 30, 2008 to insure timely processing.
Students who have already received their year’s maximum Pell Grant and Stafford Loan amounts will be sent an e-mail to advise them of alternative sources of aid that they might want to consider for Summer Session. Please see www.pdx.edu/finaid/summer.html for more details.
Students who are beginning their first term of financial aid at Portland State with summer 2008 will be awarded based on their eligibility for aid; no additional forms or special requests are necessary.
